Sorry I haven't been posting very much - trying to finish the PR fic "Anchor and Anchorage" for the [livejournal.com profile] wipbigbang and making excruciatingly painful progress on it.

I haven't been reading my f-list (in at least a week; I have to keep up better, because people are actually posting things again) and I have avoided reading fic all weekend. And reading the ficlist is also bad because y'all are currently in MCU mode, and I deliberately haven't been touching any of the CA2 bunnies because if I let myself get distracted, it'll all go down the toilet and then A&A will be really stuck.

Which is why I just skimmed a meta by [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer (wrong person: I'm a dingbat) [livejournal.com profile] azewewish about the anger management of Steve Rogers, and got a ficbunny.

I'm still nursing the bunny for [livejournal.com profile] rarewomen which is due in about 2 weeks.

After I finish writing A&A. And find an artist for it. (Anyone interested in doing art for a PR: Mako/Raleigh fic? I have at least one artist I could flat-out ask, but I think she might be busy in other fandoms now and I dragged her into one of the PR big bangs last year, so I'd feel kind of guilty about doing it again...

For the profic, I've decided to slog on with the YA coming-of-age story which has been in my head for a while. I don't think it'll be my best work, but it's a story I want to tell - about a girl who's connected within her community, not a liminal hero out on the edges.

Actually, the other story I've been tossing around - the one about a woman in her late 30s with a husband and children having to be The Chosen One - is kind of a 'mature woman' version of this story. Except the mature woman in her community can't go haring off towards adventures and excitement: society and narrativium forbid it.

That'll be an interesting one to nut out.

Okay, back to writing sparring scenes. (Sometimes I think my entire fanfic writing career has been sparring scenes - verbal sparring, physical sparring, character sparring...)
