Exhaustion and stress and uninspiration is getting me down, I think.
I've been screwing up my eating habits lately. Meals all over the place. Binges of food that I haven't eaten in ages. The body doesn't know if it's coming or going.
It probably doesn't help that I'm trying to restart a fic series on one hand (OTP 30 Day Challenge), and write a major epic on the other. I hate starting fics. What to put in, what to leave out. Should I frame the narrative - mirror the beginning and the end? Do I introduce the themes right at the start? What does the main character want?
And then there's the stress about writing a Not-Popular Female Character. The stakes are higher, because most people don't already like her - so if you can't get them in the first few pages, they're not going to bother reading any more. There's no reason for them to persist.
I want a good night's sleep. And something to eat. And I want to read some fic for my pairing/characters that has characterisation I can get behind and a satisfying plot.
