be_compromised has bears. yuletide has BEARS. Christmas presents have bears.I think someone recced 'A Woman Of Edges', because I had a jump in hits on AO3, and about 8 new kudos. Weirdly, I got a hundred new hits on 'What Happens In Vegas' in the same time period and no kudos from any of them.
That kind of worries me. It suggests to me that someone pointed me out as a "what not to do" or "this is a trainwreck story; read it, but hell don't feed it".
Although, I admit, I sometimes suspect I'm a 'trainwreck author' to a large body of fandom. "Sure, read her stories if you're bored, but for God's sake don't encourage her!"

Curious question: does anyone know if Elementary has a 'Christmas Episode'?

If people see you as a "trainwreck author" then they are narrowminded and afraid of women. Do you need their good opinion?
Or it could be that the people that read "What Happens in Vegas" were the silent majority who read and never comment or send kudos. People from outside AO3 may not be acquainted with the custom. Silence is lack of data, really, not data.
