Dear CandyHearts writer, thank you so much for writing for me!

I have picked a selection of perennial favourites for this year, and hope that one of them speaks to you and that writing for me is a joy and not a burden.

If I have somehow forgotten or not transferred the details from my sign-up over here, or if I haven't written much about the fandom/relationship pairing that we've matched on, I apologise. I truly do want that fandom and pairing, I just changed one and not the other.

Likes
- female friendships and working relationships
- female characters at the heart of the narrative
- interactions between characters working together
- respectful romantic relationships
- stories of adventure and drama
- slices of life
- happy or hopeful endings
- character studies through interaction
- action/adventure/drama

DNW
- nominated characters as antagonists
- pairings I didn't ask for
- death of nominated characters
- torture
- smut (unless otherwise indicated)
- pure scene setting with no interaction or dialogue by the characters
- cheating partners (but especially not to get the requested pairing)
- humiliation as humour

If you want further ideas, then my fic ideas post gives the basics of my current interests.

Ultimately these are all suggestions to help you get started. If none of them work for you then write the fandom and pairing we matched on and it will be fine!

Pacific Rim
Saving the world in giant robots! I love the idea of the Drift, of found soulmates (whether you perceive that as platonic or romantic), of found family, of people coming together for a common cause and a public good, and working out who they are and what they're doing along the way.

Raleigh Becket/Mako Mori (Pacific Rim) : after the end, learning each other without the Drift.
Mako Mori & Duke Pentecost (Pacific Rim) : Siblings in the Pentecost household. Mako survives the events of Uprising.
Mako Mori & Stacker Pentecost (Pacific Rim) : life in Shatterdomes during the war, responsibility and respect.
Mako Mori & Tamsin Sevier (Pacific Rim) : bending without breaking, taking pleasure in life and living.

FTR, I'm okay with the events of the original movie, but really pissed off about the events of Uprising, so please rewrite or ignore that entirely.

Stargate All Media
Ronon Dex & Teyla Emmagan & Rodney McKay & John Sheppard : getting into (and out of trouble), downtime with aliens.
Teyla Emmagan/John Sheppard : Earth v Pegasus, friends-to-lovers, but something that goes beyond Teyla as the "alien finding everything strange" please!
Sam Carter/Jack O'Neill : actions saying more than words,
Sam Carter & Teyla Emmagan : leadership transfer in Season 4, a situation that requires cool heads.

I enjoyed both shows at the start, although some of the plotlines were a bit stale towards the end of each series. Mostly, what I enjoyed was the possibility of new worlds, new cultures, new connections, even as they fought the Big Bad of the galaxy in question. And the dynamics between the characters, the teams, and the 'support staff' in each show. I am good with 'curtainfic' or the most action-adventure story you can think up and write!

SG1: Found family...IN SPAAAAACE! Also: Teal'c and the Jaffa. That relationship wasn't a gen option in the tagset, but I particularly love Teal'c and his long-view, cool head, and inexplicable (probably often to himself, too) affection for the Tau'ri. Add him in anywhere you care to, or don't. It's all good!

Atlantis version: with bonus space vampires! Workplace and home in the same space, and the oddities of the expedition and their peculiar place in Pegasus - an outpost of Earth that would surely be changed by Pegasus just as Pegasus has been changed by them.

Give me daily life in the SGC/Atlantis or off-planet. Give me Pegasus locals, particularly ones that are realistic about the Atlantis expedition. Give me Wraith or Goa'uld or the Replicators. Conflict and hilarity, humour and tough choices. The whole hog and anything besides!

Bridgerton (TV)
Anthony/Kate: romance in married life, dealing with the ton upon their return from their honeymoon.
Benedict & Kate Sharma: keeping the viscount humble!
Violet & Kate Sharma: Daphne takes Kate around the social scene (the card party), Kate keeps Daphne informed.
The Bridgerton siblings: a close-knit family that is slowly coming apart as the various parties marry and move away: what do they do in each others' absence?
Kate Sharma & Mary Sharma: Marrying into the Bridgertons!
Eloise & Kate Sharma: Does Eloise maybe confide in Kate regarding her 'bluestocking' activities?

A regency world that never was...

Give me all the Kate-and-the-Bridgertons scenarios you can imagine! Kate and Anthony being married - both happily and snarkily - or dealing with whatever comes their way. No pregnancy fic for this one, please!

I'd like to see your thoughts on the broader world that Bridgerton is in; set Kate and the Bridgertons (and Mary) into that world. Letters exchanged between characters, secrets or confessions, kindnesses and reassurances, but also the background of a world that must look quite different sociopolitically.

MCU
Maria Hill/Steve Rogers (MCU):

This is the unicorn pairing for me. I like the idea of Steve being happy in the world where he found himself - of finding joy even when it's not the ending one envisioned, and of cultivating contentment where one lands - not 'settling', but being in the moment and accepting what there is. I like the idea of Maria getting to be happy amidst all the difficulties of managing superheroes and the work-orientation that is probably a large part of her life. I'd like them to find a happy ending with each other, however you sort it out.

Note: I haven't seen any of the Disney+ shows, and I'm not really interested in following them in any way.

MCU gen
Clint Barton & Bruce Banner & Maria Hill & Steve Rogers & Natasha Romanoff & Tony Stark & Thor(MCU) :
Helen Cho & Jane Foster & Maria Hill & Pepper Potts(MCU):
Maria Hill & James "Rhodey" Rhodes (MCU):
Maria Hill & Wanda Maximoff(MCU):
Maria Hill & Pepper Potts (MCU):
Jane Foster & Maria Hill & Wanda Maximoff & Pepper Potts (MCU):

Friendships in professional and personal settings. The boundaries between work and play would get blurred with all these people interacting, bonding in situations that they wouldn't otherwise experience. It's the 'found family' concept, superpowered.

I particularly like the non-superpowered women and the idea of their relationships behind the "big powerful people" - the dynamics that would have been developed between them, not just professionally but personally.

One note: I haven't seen any of the Disney+ shows, so go sparingly on those, thanks.

Buffyverse
Angel & Faith Lehane :
Faith Lehane & Buffy Summers :
Faith Lehane/Wesley Wyndam-Pryce :
Faith Lehane & Dawn Summers:
Angel/Buffy Summers:

One of the themes of Buffy was the intersection of the 'normal' and the 'supernatural', which, in Angel was more or less translated to 'daylight world' and 'night world'. I love the contrasts and conflicts of living liminally, on the edge. How do relationships and interactions work in these situations?

You can bring in any number of Scoobies or the Fang Gang, but I'd like the focus of the story to be about the prompt characters, please!

Crossovers

This is the 'go wild with it' option. I just love these characters and would like to see them interact with each other! Spies, spirits, secret agents, and the supernatural...

Diana (Wonder Woman) & Maria Hill (MCU) :
Elsa (Frozen)/Jack Frost (Guardians of Childhood) (Crossover) :
Faith Lehane (Buffyverse (TV))/Dean Winchester (Supernatural) :
Faith Lehane (Buffyverse (TV)) & Maria Hill (MCU) :
James Bond (007 Movies) & Maria Hill (MCU) :

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
Cassian/Jyn: Happy Rebellion After? Life and love in the middle of a war. Or after the war when they're trying to work out who they are and how they fit together?
Jyn & Leia: Two women in the Rebellion - one from the 'leadership' strata, the other from the stews and crews: but both of them leaders.
Cassian & Jyn & Chirrut & K2SO & Baze & Bodhi: an Intelligence squad in the midst of the New Republic, gathering data to help topple the empire that took so much from them.

Rebellions (and friendships) built on hope, and the different ways we contribute to a better world (or galaxy) for all! Obviously these options take the 'not everyone dies' angle, and however you want to set up them having gotten off Scarif is good.

I haven't seen anything of Andor (any of the Disney+ stuff, actually), but if you want to include bits from there then feel free to do so! I have read a lot of the original "Expanded Universe" (I think it's called Star Wars Legacy) novels, and particularly enjoyed the Wraith and Rogue Squadron books, so if you know of them and want to include any of those characters, I am absolutely up for that, too!

Once again, thanks for writing for me.

It's a fandom and characters we like and enjoy and I hope that it comes easy for you!

A Passion Of Dragons (2224 words) by tielan
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Dragonriders of Pern - Anne McCaffrey
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Sean Connell/Sorka Hanrahan
Additional Tags: Mating Flight (Dragonriders of Pern)
Summary:

They knew what a dragonet mating flight did to the humans who'd Impressed the little creatures: how could they not have realised that a queen dragon's mating flight would be that much bigger, that much more influential?

My recipient matched me on three fandoms - THREE! All from the 90s (oh, wait, I think the Alberich books are 00s), but the ideas about Sean and Sorka and the early years of the weyr and how the weyrs set up differently from the holds were what caught my interest.

Amusingly, several of you commented on my fic before the reveals. Which is always good to know that people like the fic and aren't just clicking for the name!
