tielan: (don't make me shoot you)

Now I'm fretting about the windows intallation and the possibility of it all going wrong, the windows being the wrong size, the installers destroying the walls...all the things. ALL THE THINGS.

That said, on the 26th Jan, Australian public holiday, I went down to the new swimming spot in Sydney Harbour: Marrinawi Cove at dawn, and took a dip.

They've only just (re-)opened Marrinawi Cove. It's the first time in decades that the harbour has been judged clean enough to swim in, and it's only a teeny tiny spot, but it's lovely.

And the dip was fantastic. I arrived ~6:30am and had parking until 8:00am. I went for a swim back and forth, then sat and dried a little and listened to the start of the Wurrung Ora - official welcoming ceremony from the Indigenous Council of Australia.

Then I went to the parentals' for our 'Chinese New Year' celebration. Learned how to make radish cake lohbukgoh, also had some more practice at making jiandui (deep fried red bean sesame balls).

Then I came home and slept on the couch for three hours.

And then I spent most of the night fretting about the windows.

I know I complain a bit about B1, but she really is the best when dealing with me. She sent me a couple of YT vids about how window replacements happen. It makes things a little better, but I'm still somewhat nervous.

Particularly since the storage pod we'd planned has turned out to need more maneuvring space than we have available on our driveway. They can put it half on the road and half on the council strip, but they can't do it on our property. Which means we need council approval, which...that's gonna take a while...

In more positive news, [community profile] halfamoon is back! Female-centric fic, recs, grapics, vids. I know it's not hugely popular and never has been, but I do enjoy it, even if we're all a little tired by the end of it.
